Description

3DTomorrow Astro PLA Filament

Looking to create prints that are truly out of this world!? Then look no further, our Astro range of filaments contain metallic flakes that gives prints a sparkly, celestial finish. As an added bonus, this glitter effect reduces the visibility of layer lines and the modifications to the PLA result in a stiffer material.

PLA (Polylactic Acid) is one of the most commonly used 3D Printing filaments, chosen for its good value, ease of printing and bio-based production. 3DTomorrow’s Astro PLA is supplied on a UK made cardboard spool, which is 100% recyclable. So this product can help you reduce your carbon footprint vs buying plastic spooled alternatives. Did you know you can also return your 3DTomorrow spools as part of our spool buyback program #ZeroWaste.

What to expect from 3DTomorrow Astro PLA?

As a print service ourselves, we know that filament quality is of upmost importance and would never sell a product that we would not use. Our Astro PLA filament can be used to produce excellent quality prints, thanks to great interlayer adhesion, low warp and tangle free spooling. Another great thing about our filament is the consistent strong colours, which ensure colour match even if you have to change spool midway through a batch.

3DTomorrow Astro PLA is vacuum sealed with a desiccant directly after manufacture, so you can rest easy knowing your filament will arrive in good form. We pride ourselves when it comes to environmental best practices and quality assurance, you can read more about this here.

Print Settings

While not explicitly required, a 0.5mm extruder nozzle is advisable as this will prevent build up of metallic flakes. Purging the extruder when changing material is also recommended to remove any metallic flakes from the nozzle and prevent build up.

I have bought several of the Astro pla colours and I have never been disappointed, my favourite is definitely space emerald as shown in the photo of a crocodile printed on a Bambu lab A1 at high speed which shows the flexibility of 3dTomorrow filaments as to flow rates.

The astro PLA from 3DTomorrow is nothing short of fantastic. Not only does the finish look absolutely gorgeous and just seem to work for every and any design you could print, but it is so so easy to print with as well! Never have I had any problems printing with this PLA, it just works. Long live the astro series!

This photo is to accompany my review of the Rose Nebula. Unfortunately the photo doesn't show the quality of the finish as well as I would have hoped. However the finish is stunning

Unrivalled quality from this company, this PLA is unbelievably strong, easy to print, visually stunning and is wholly an incredibly high quality of product. Absolutely lovely to print with, brilliant adhesion, and produces even better quality prints than filaments from companies such as Eryone, sunlu, esun etc. I would recommend this to anyone who prints in PLA!
